has over 70 years of cumulative experience in the industry, with the business

SharpTune
Motorcycles has a reputation that goes far beyond retailing expertise. Its
engineering skills have been well-chronicled over the years, with many top
SuperBike and Production Racers, as well as enduro riders, competing under the
SharpTune banner.
Harley-Davidson Super Twins Champion Robbie Hermans,
ex-factory SuperBike rider Michael O'Conner, top 1980's A-graders Paul Walkley,
Steve Watts and Tony Harris, and current Australian Motorcycle News Editor Ken
Wooton have all competed successfully on SharpTune Prepared Motorcycles. Even
the world SuperBike star Aaron Slight raced a SharpTune prepared motorcycle in
his early years in Australia.
A SharpTune
owned and operated Honda CB750 Four won the 1994 Australian Post-classic
Championshop, whilst a SharpTune built engine holds the record for the most
finishes in the gruelling Arai 500 at Bathurst.
SharpTune
Motorcycles commenced operations in the lates 1970's trading initially as
'Dandy Motorcycle Accessories' - A Reflection of its Dandenong location. It was
formed originally by Peter Sharp, who prior to Dandy Motorcycle Accessories has
operated 'All Bike Tuning' in the nearby suburb of Braeside.
However,
with the companies emphasis in those days leaning more towards engine
rebuilding, tuning and servicing, rather than retail accessory sales the name
was changed to SharpTune to more accurately reflect its
activities.
The current
owner Albert Tehennepe joined Peter Sharp as a partner in the business in 1982,
and the growth of SharpTune moved up a gear. Albert had previously worked in
Western Australia for Balcatta Suzuki-BMW, and then as a salesperson for 'Road
& Trail'. In 1995 Albert bought the remaining shares of the business and in
1996 moved the company to its present prominent location in Lonsdale Street
Dandenong (Princes Hwy).
